The event is organised bya mong others the City of Budapest and the Budapest Business Region and will be placed in the Committee of Regions. Cargo City – New project of Budapest Airport

In September 2011 the construction of Cargo City – a brand new air cargo centre of Hungary - can be started on the south-eastern part of Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport. As the first milestone the 5000 sqm international exchange centre of the Hungarian Post was completed in last October. Cargo City’s expansion will be continued in two phase within two 11+5 thousand square meters of air cargo complexes will be built.

From April beside Budapest Business Region’s Facebook fanpage and LinkedIn group the organisation can be found on Youtube as well. By ’occupying’ the three social media sites, the first phase of BBR’s online renewal has been closed. The main purpose of creating our branded Youtube channel is to store BBR’s videos in one place and an easier access to our content. On the other hand the embeddable videos provide colourful information to our media partners and the press. Follow us on Youtube as well!

Real estate investments are increasing again in the Central Eastern European markets and Hungary is following the international trends but with some delay. Although office development projects still remain at low levels in Budapest, tenant demand is more and more active. Moreover firms building for their global growth reappeared looking for new offices in Budapest. - reported CB Richard Ellis.

In the last period Hungary’ economic assessment has improved greatly at international level, which also aroused the interest of the market for the country. The forint strenghtened, the risk appetite improved. The cost of insurance against bankruptcy (CDS) is one of the most satisfying in the CEE region, which can be said about the government budget as well. Moreover international analysts are already talking about Hungary as a promising investment location in Central Eastern Europe. As credit-rating agencies’ reactions are slower than the market’s there is not any positive change in the country’ rating, but according to the experts in the near future Hungary’s upgrade is to be expected.

In point of debt financing Hungary got into the Top 10 in the first quarter of the year according to the latest analysis of Markit Financial Information Sevices. In the last three months the Hungarian CDS spread decreased with 32,2 percent, which stands now on 263 basis points. With this result Hungary’s national banktrupcy risk is better than some Eurozone EU-members’ one.

Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it has affirmed its 'BBB-/A-3' long- and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings on Hungary. The outlook on the ratings remains negative. The transfer and convertibility assessment on Hungary remains at 'A-'.

Hungary celebrated the 130th anniversary of the birth of Joseph A. Galamb yesterday. He was the chief-designer of the Ford Company and co-inventor of the world's most influental car of the twentieth century. The Ford Model T (which was also known as Tin Lizzie or Flivver) is also mentioned in Budapest Business Region's image film titled Get engaged.

RERA – What happened on the office market in 2010 ?

As RERA's quarterly report says, more than 145,000 sq m office space was delivered in 2010 which represents a 36% drop in comparison with the 2009 volume. In Q4 2010 the volume of new deliveries was the lowest since 2006: only 6,280 sq m. The new handovers in Q4 2010 are Downtown IX and Duna Bellview.
