Cargo City – New project of Budapest Airport

10 May 2011

In September 2011 the construction of Cargo City – a brand new air cargo centre of Hungary - can be started on the south-eastern part of Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport. As the first milestone the 5000 sqm international exchange centre of the Hungarian Post was completed in last October. Cargo City’s expansion will be continued in two phase within two 11+5 thousand square meters of air cargo complexes will be built.

By the investment Budapest Airport can serve the needs of cargo-carrier airlines on a higher level, the new centre replaces the out of date facilities next to Terminal 1. The development has operational and environmental benefits to the carriers as well, which will have an instant access to the M0 highway and Road nr. 4 with their vehicles, without crossing the overcrowded roads of Budapest.
