One of the world's seven wonders worth 91 billion euros

8, September 2010

How much would you pay for St Mark's Cathedral in Venice, the Vatican Museum or the Colosseum? In fact, their value can be determined. The measurement of economic reputation in Eri-index calculations were made on the basis of the British country image specialist Simon Anholt's National Brand Index.

As basis for the evaluation such parameters served as the building or the museum's economic impact on business and cultural life, tourist attractions, exportability, or the number of visitors.

The numerical data are as follows: Colosseum, the image of Italy worth 91 billion euros, the Vatican Museum 90 billion, the Cathedral of Milan 82 billion, while the Pompeii archaeological site worth much less, "only" 20 billion. St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice worth 16 billion and the Uffizi Gallery 12 billion.

It is interesting that index value of the home stadium of Internazionale and Milan's San Siro stadium is 30 billion, while the Scala in Milan is only 27 billion.

These amounts are not market prices, of course, but rather a kind of archeological or spiritual value expressed by the above-mentioned determining factors. It is therefore likely in the near future no one will boast its own Coliseum. Impressive buildings, such as the Royal Castle of Buda or the Parliament are not included in this list, but according to the urban legend latter would have been taken by the late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury personally.
